Overview – Renjo La Pass Trek
Your journey begins in Kathmandu with a scenic mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region.
The trek follows the Dudh Koshi River, winding through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages like Phakding and Namche Bazaar.
After acclimatizing in Namche, you leave the main trail to explore the peaceful Gokyo Valley. Here, the turquoise lakes of Gokyo reflect the surrounding snow giants, creating a breathtaking alpine setting.
A climb to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) rewards you with one of the most magnificent panoramic views in the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest itself.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the Renjo La Pass, offering unforgettable views of Everest, Cho Oyu, and the Gokyo Lakes below.

Renjo La Pass Trek Itinerary
Arrive in Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu. Meet your trekking guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Explore Thamel in the evening and prepare for your adventure.
Take an exciting mountain flight to Lukla, then start your first trek following the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding.

Cross suspension bridges and climb through lush forests to Namche Bazaar—the bustling Sherpa capital and gateway to Everest.
5–6 hrs walk | 10.5 km
Take a rest day to acclimatize. Visit the Sherpa Museum or hike up to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest and Ama Dablam.
Leave the main Everest Base Camp route and follow a quieter trail toward Phortse Thanga, surrounded by forests of juniper and rhododendron.
5–6 hrs walk | 6 km
Ascend through peaceful Sherpa villages and yak pastures. The views of Cho Oyu and surrounding peaks are superb.
Continue alongside the Ngozumpa Glacier to reach Gokyo village beside the turquoise Gokyo Lakes.
